Galaxy Digital obtains derivative trading license in the UK

Golden Finance Report, Galaxy Digital has obtained permission to conduct derivative trading through its London office in the UK. Since 2020, companies engaged in certain cryptocurrency activities in the UK must comply with the revised money laundering, terrorism financing, and fund transfer regulations and register with the FCA. Currently, there are 51 companies on the cryptocurrency asset registry, including Coinbase, Fidelity, Gemini, and Kraken. Due to the strict approval process of the FCA, only about 14% of applications can be approved. Previously reported, BlackRock has obtained approval from the UK Financial Conduct Authority to operate as a cryptocurrency company in the country.
