Democratic lawmakers strongly criticized the World Liberty Financial project recently announced by the Trump family for issuing stablecoin USD1, with representative Maxine Waters calling it a "clear manifestation of greed and corruption," and questioning the president's push to relax cryptocurrency regulation while entering the industry as a conflict of interest. Despite ongoing controversy, the bill still received support from six Democratic lawmakers. Trump has promised to build the United States into a 'crypto superpower' and urged Congress to pass the stablecoin bill and crypto market structure bill by the end of the year.
