Reading the details on the tariffs while Trump exempted Taiwan tariffs for *semiconductors* it did not exempt GPUs. So that will cripple the US AI race, make compute more expensive, hurt NVIDIA stock and ensure cloud compute opens up outside the US rather than invest in US data centers. Data centers are great example of not needing to relocate to the US to avoid tariffs. You keep the GPUs somewhere close like Canada, and rent the compute to US customers. It’s part of why this is all so incredibly dumb in a modern economy to use a tariff strategy from the 1800s.
