Babylon Genesis is launching as the first Bitcoin Secured Network (BSN). Since August 2024, over 57,000 BTC have been staked through Babylon. The project aims to establish a Bitcoin liquidity layer, enabling new use cases for staked bitcoins. It is being launched in three phases: bootstrapping Bitcoin security and liquidity, launching Babylon Genesis, and onboarding other BSNs. The goal is to create a trust-minimized Bitcoin bridge, enhancing security for transferring Bitcoin liquidity into the Genesis ecosystem, and facilitating trust-minimized LSTs and dapps-level Bitcoin staking. 6% of the total supply is airdropped to stakers and early adopters.
