🚨NEW: The @SECGov has handed over the Office of Inspector General’s ethics investigation into former Corporation Finance Director Bill Hinman to watchdog group @EMPOWR_us, which had sued the agency for access to the findings. In short, the SEC Inspector General concluded that Hinman did not violate any criminal conflict-of-interest laws or internal ethics rules during his time at the SEC. I had filed a FOIA request to receive a copy of this report back in December, but the agency told me as recently as this past Monday that they were still consulting with SEC staff regarding the accessibility of the report.
