Another important Garcia detail: DHS posted his paperwork attempting to smear Garcia, but they made a weird redaction: -They redacted the names of all the background and immigration database checks which all came back *NEGATIVE* This means: -Their claim that he had prior immigration flags before 2019, was false. -They used these claims as basis for why his status would have been changed or outstanding. -And his arrest (not just his deportation) in 2025 would have been wholly illegal, as there was no change to his legal immigration status. So now we know: -Their own police reports disprove that he had any gang tattoos at the time. -The officer who claimed he was in a gang was suspended for giving confidential information to a sex worker. -The “informant” who claimed he was MS-13 claimed Garcia was MS-13 New York despite Garcia living in Maryland. -Trump’s own Department of Homeland Security in 2019 was the one who granted Garcia a work permit, -That work permit required annual background check clearance from DHS and ICE every year from 2019-2025, all which cleared him. -Unlike the claims from the Trump admin, Garcia had 0 listings in any criminal or immigration database prior to 2019. -In his 2025 arrest, he was told his “immigration status had changed” which was untrue making the very arrest itself illegal. -They were only able to locate and arrest Garcia because he was registered with DHS and ICE for his work permit and had to register his home and work addresses for the background checks.
