We’ve just returned from Lisbon, Portugal, where we held our 7th ICON Team Workshop - our most international gathering yet. Twice a year, all core contributors from around the world come together for 4 days - 3 days are packed with intensive discussions and collaboration, while the evenings and one full day are set aside for social activities and team bonding. Our team’s evolution has been remarkable. When we launched ICON, our contributors were concentrated in just two countries. This year, our core team traveled from 11 different countries, reflecting our rapidly growing European presence and prompting us to host the workshop in Europe for the first time. Looking ahead, we plan to invite even more extended team members from across the globe. A core belief at ICON is that a decentralized project should be powered by a truly distributed team. Many projects make this claim, but I haven’t seen another team structured quite like ours. Initially, I had my doubts, but I’m now convinced that our unique, multicultural framework gives us a long-term edge in building exceptional DeFi products. The next evolution of ICON is designed to leverage this structure fully, and as our team continues to grow and adapt, I believe our best days are ahead. Now, we’re preparing to launch our very first Creative Team - 3 to 5 people who live and breathe content creation. I’m searching for bold, unconventional thinkers: crypto idealists who see the world through a lens, consume digital content voraciously, and dream up new ideas even in their sleep.
