Chainlink continues to SHIP 🚢 This latest upgrade to CCIP introduces "Token Developer Attestations" as a new opt-in security feature for cross-chain tokens (CCTs) The feature allows asset issuers to participate in an additional layer of verification any time their token is transferred cross-chain via CCIP Asset issuers attest to a token burn event on a source chain (via any validation method they want) and provide approval (via an API) to CCIP to allow tokens to be minted on the destination chain This is akin to how CCIP supports USDC via CCTP attestations, but now generalized to be supported by any asset issuer for any CCT (incl @Lombard_Finance using it for their 2B LBTC token) This feature was released in private beta with the v1.5 upgrade, now available to everyone More security, more sovereignty
