According to Foresight News, The Block reported that American tourist Jacob Irwin Line was kidnapped by a fake Uber driver in London and lost $123000 worth of cryptocurrency. The case occurred in the early morning of May 9th, when the victim mistakenly boarded a disguised vehicle after leaving a nightclub in Soho district. The driver used cigarettes containing scopolamine to cause confusion and obtained the phone password. The monitoring shows that the victim did not log in to the car model displayed on the app. The police have confirmed that the suspect used their Revolut account to log in and steal digital assets, including $72000 in XRP and $50000 in Bitcoin. The London police stated that the case is still under investigation and no suspects have been arrested yet. Experts suggest that travelers use hardware wallets and enable multi factor authentication.
