A certain American cryptocurrency investor is suspected of kidnapping and torturing an Italian businessman in New York in an attempt to obtain his encrypted account password

Odaily Planet Daily News: 37 year old American cryptocurrency investor John Woeltz and a 24-year-old suspected female accomplice are accused of illegally detaining and torturing a 28 year old Italian businessman in a high-end apartment in Manhattan, New York, for more than two weeks, attempting to obtain his encrypted account password. The victim arrived in New York on May 6th and met with Woeltz, who had business dealings with him. He was subsequently stripped of his passport and subjected to abuse such as electric shock, drug coercion, and chainsaw threats. It is reported that the police found multiple Polaroid photos of the victims being bound and tortured at the scene, as well as firearms, chainsaws and other tools. The victim eventually escaped and reported to the police on May 23rd. John Woeltz is charged with multiple offenses including first-degree kidnapping, illegal imprisonment, assault, and illegal possession of weapons, and the case is still under investigation. （The Block）
