SEC Cryptocurrency Working Group Meets with CoinShares Representatives to Discuss Issues Related to Cryptocurrency Asset Regulation

Odaily Planet Daily News: According to official sources, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Crypto Task Force has held talks with representatives of CoinShares International Limited and its legal advisor Chapman&Cutler LLP to discuss the regulatory challenges faced in launching cryptocurrency exchange traded products (ETPs) in the United States. It is reported that the topics discussed in the meeting between the two parties include: how to integrate pledge mechanisms in the ETP structure, appropriate standards for reviewing new digital asset ETP rule change applications, issues related to encrypted asset custody, comparison between physical and cash redemption mechanisms, and the feasibility of registering investment companies to invest in digital asset ETP. CoinShares also introduced its crypto asset ETP business in Europe, where the company manages over $6 billion in assets and offers 20 publicly traded ETP products covering 13 digital assets and 3 digital asset indices.
