I've had a few days to take in the news that @sorare have essentially removed the unique level of competition from next season onwards and combined it with the SR tier to create the equivalent of 'Super Rare Pro'. There is no beating around the bush here, all classic unique players from myself to those who rely on great scouting with smaller galleries like @Fabispielt1 have been incredibly damaged by this change. For those who tend to think i've profited from the platform, my net spend exceeds £2,000,000. However, I am more than aware that sorare has to become self-sufficient to survive in the long term. So i am ready to try and embrace Super Rare Pro. (It's not like i really have a choice 😅) I hope the team can take learnings from this and prior gameplay changes. The in-season format changes last season were needed and were required in taking a major step for long term survival, the suggested changes for the upcoming season are... yet to be proven. Sometimes, change for the sake of change, can do more harm than good. I also think that part of the reason that the immediate response can be so negative is the way these changes are messaged to players, and the detail of content that they may or may not contain. The majority of players are not stupid, so attempting to PR spin the merge into a positive for both unique and SR players, doesn't sit well with most people. Just be honest and say that essentially, large accounts such as my gallery were perfectly set up to return an unsustainable ROI next season, and had to be 'nerfed' to protect the platform. Also, it would be great to actually involve player representatives to gain actual feedback that respects players and the long-term sustainability of the game. For these and future changes to land smoother, consistency is key, last season it was all about building collections, next season you are given SO5 bonuses for using cards from different teams..? To keep existing unique players engaged we need to have enough competitions to play our classic cards in, right now there has been no mention of a Unique arena, or Unique specific special comps. You also need to make sure you don't adjust what was said previously in the blog post that was removed. Players are already collecting 2 classic uniques to play in each in-season SR lineup, and any backtracking on this dominate the narrative when the next update is released. In short, I like many others, love the game, the scoring mechanics combined with digital collectibles is incredibly engaging and rewarding. I wouldn't have spent as much as I have or be talking here today if that wasn't the case. As things stand, i'm not sure what the incentive is for me in particular to pick up in-season unique cards. We can all hold our breath for the next blog post where hopefully we get some clarity and some tasty multipliers P.S. Please consider a DNP solution for SO7. Also, sorry this post was so long.
