OKX IPO rumors resurface Recently, discussions about OKX seeking to go public have once again become rampant, triggering widespread market attention. This is not the first time OKX has been rumored to have intentions of going public, but this time, against the backdrop of the overall improvement of the cryptocurrency market and the company's own strategic transformation, this topic has become particularly noteworthy. Over a year ago, during a bull market in the cryptocurrency market, OKX seemed relatively "inactive" in the listing of altcoins. On the contrary, it has invested a lot of energy into the development of Web3 wallet business, which has relatively lower compliance requirements compared to CEX business, providing possibilities for OKX to explore broader growth opportunities. From the current perspective, OKX's strategic choice is undoubtedly extremely wise. If we turn our attention to traditional financial markets, Circle has achieved a very high premium on NASDAQ, and its market value reflects the market's recognition of its stablecoin business and compliant operations. The PE price of 260 and 329 is insane. Similarly, if OKX, the world's top cryptocurrency trading platform, can successfully enter the public market, its market value may reach an unimaginable height. This raises a question, what are the advantages of issuing stocks through IPO compared to issuing platform coins? The liquidity dilemma of platform coins: The vast majority of platform coins have a high degree of market control, and their liquidity is mainly concentrated within their own exchanges, resulting in very limited liquidity available for external cashing out, and their market value is often an "empty market value". Most platform coins, despite their large market value, have difficulty matching their actual liquidity and trading volume. External liquidity of stocks: Once stocks are listed and issued, their liquidity will be fully provided by external capital and individual investors, forming a healthier and more transparent market. More importantly, the overall liquidity performance of stocks related to the cryptocurrency industry is outstanding, providing investors with a good exit channel. Overall, OKX's focus on Web3 business and strategic direction of seeking IPO undoubtedly demonstrates its profound insight into industry development trends.
