See this is the issue with modern politics. Everyone is so afraid to get out of line (especially due to Trump) that instead of doing the job of representing their constituents, they hide from them. If @SenThomTillis thinks his constituents will be upset by the bill, voice that, publicly. Then do something to fix it. And @SenMcConnell shouldn’t be telling people to “get over it” he should be representing his voters, and their voice. But he is too afraid that if he angers Trump, he’ll face political violence. So they complain about the risks behind closed doors; while championing the bill to your face. They cut provisions from the bill silently, while shouting on Fox News about how it’s a perfect bill and anyone questioning it just hates Trump. And the left has been no better. We’ve got to stop electing people who just take marching orders, and start electing people who will fight for the interest of their voters - even when that means going against their own party. And achieving that probably means major campaign finance reform, so that parties can’t hold funding hostage.
