Dwayne Golden, a partner of multiple fraudulent cryptocurrency companies, was sentenced to 8 years in prison for defrauding $40 million

According to The Block, according to the US Department of Justice, Dwayne Golden, a 57 year old man from Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 97 months (approximately 8 years) in prison for participating in the operation of fraudulent cryptocurrency companies EmpowerCoin, ECoinPlus, and Jet Coin, and has surrendered approximately $2.46 million in illegally acquired assets. Dwayne Golden and her accomplices fraudulently obtained $40 million from investors through a Ponzi scheme, and subsequently obstructed a federal investigation. Dwayne Golden was first charged with fraud, money laundering, and other financial crimes in March 2022.
