Happy 4th of July everyone. Happy Birthday America! 🇺🇸 🎊 🧨 🚀 🎈 Despite the very serious challenges that lie ahead, America 🇺🇸 & the American Dream must always remain resilient, inspiring hope and opportunity for a brighter future. Despite my concerns, I still believe in the promise of America 🇺🇸 America faces a debt crisis, ignored by every administration, regardless of party, and despite interest payments exceeding total costs of National Defense (1T per year). We face economic inequality, with an increasing wealth gap between the haves and have nots, so severe Socialist Leaders like @ZohranKMamdani & @AOC are gaining in popularity and who, if we don’t deal with it, could eventually rise to power. We face significant healthcare access disparities and infrastructure decay (despite a pork-filled Infrastructure Bill by the last administration). But the single greatest threat to America today is a level of divisiveness previously unseen during my lifetime. I have news for everyone: Great Americans voted for @realDonaldTrump. Likewise, Great Americans voted for @KamalaHarris. It’s ok to disagree on policy - that’s Democracy. What is un-American, however, is to hope America falters when the other side is in charge. We have to find a way to unite as a nation. But I’ll NEVER give up on the promise of America. How could I? My life embodies the American Dream. I was born and raised by a single mother on Welfare & Food Stamps, living in one of America’s worst neighborhoods. And today, I am truly blessed with to the amazing life. Did I bust my ass and make sacrifices others were not willing to make? Absolutely. The true promise of America isn’t a promise that we’ll all have the same outcome. The promise is that we’ll have the opportunity. The beauty of America is that your birth and the circumstances of your childhood DO NOT dictate your fate. In the America I love, and wore a Marine Corps uniform for, one’s fate is not predetermined. We determine our fate! That’s America 🇺🇸 Here’s an American story: A person who was born in the hood and surrounded by drugs and violence his entire childhood, including the worst kind of violence committed against him as a child, many years later, woke up one day, only 9 months before an election, and said to himself, despite no one knowing who he was, he was going to run for U.S. Senate against @ewarren, one the most powerful, entrenched and popular politicians in America. Sure, as expected, I didn’t win the race, but if that journey isn’t symbolic of the promise of America, I don’t know what is. So, regardless of the many issues we face: God Bless America. 🇺🇸 ❤️ 🇺🇸
