It is a pleasure to be back in Rio, this time for the BRICS Summit, where I held a warm and productive pre-summit bilateral meeting with my dear friend, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil. Nigeria and Brazil share historic ties and common aspirations. I am pleased with the enhanced cooperation between our two countries over the past two years. Today, we agreed to further deepen collaboration in agriculture, technology, oil & gas, energy, trade, mining & extractive industries, and industrial development. These sectors are critical to inclusive growth and prosperity for both our peoples.
