More than 20 years ago, the vision for the Montego Bay Perimeter Road was introduced. But for years, it remained just that, a vision. Why? Because previous administrations lacked the economic stability, planning capacity, and fiscal resources to move from concept to execution. Two years ago, under this government, we broke ground. And today, I am pleased to report that the final layer of asphalt is now being laid on sections of the roadway. This is tangible progress. But it also shows the reality of infrastructure development, it takes time, careful planning, and consistent funding. I understand the frustrations of those waiting on water, roads, or housing. But I will not make false promises. Instead, I will tell you the truth, these projects involve detailed processes, design, procurement, environmental assessments, and funding agreements, and they take time. What matters is that those processes are now in motion, fully funded, and visible progress is being made. More importantly, we are managing the economy in a way that ensures these projects don’t just start, they finish.
