The Government Accountability Office must immediately investigate if and how Trump’s funding cuts, staffing cuts, and policy changes at FEMA contributed to the failures in Texas, and what risks these actions pose for future disaster response efforts nationwide. Americans deserve to know whether their government is still capable of protecting them no matter when or where disaster strikes.
