Bitcoin proposal suggests freezing addresses such as Satoshi Nakamoto that are vulnerable to quantum attacks

Odaily Planet Daily News: Jameson Lopp, CTO and co-founder of Casa, proposed a Bitcoin improvement proposal on Tuesday aimed at addressing the potential threat posed by quantum computers to the Bitcoin network. The proposal was jointly written by six developers and aims to gradually eliminate quantum vulnerable address types through three stages. According to recent research by Deloitte, approximately 25% of Bitcoin is currently at risk of quantum computing, including one million bitcoins believed to belong to Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto. Experts are concerned that with the development of quantum computing technology, the private keys of these ancient wallets may be reverse engineered within the next decade. The proposal will prohibit vector sub vulnerable addresses from sending funds and freeze the Bitcoin of these addresses for five years, while encouraging users to adopt the "post quantum" Bitcoin address type.
