To play devils advocate, lower birth rates are a good thing. Less crowdedness, less school pressure on kids, less environmental degradation. It obv breaks the housing ponzi but not necessarily a bad thing for young ppl. Becomes less good tho if the solution to demographic issues becomes mass immigration
