How I Hooked Up My Friends for Crypto Back in 2020, I was the only one in our group even thinking about crypto. Everyone else thought it was some scam or hype. Honestly, I don’t blame them. We were all broke, working shitty jobs, and crypto just sounded like another “get rich quick” trap. There were four of us. Me - the “crazy one” who always talked about crypto and researched everything that came my way. Then my three friends, let’s just call them Alex, Max, and John: Alex was working nights at a gas station, just trying to make rent. Always said crypto looked like “some sketchy online casino.” Max did food delivery 6–7 days a week. His parents drilled it into his head that crypto was a scam. Said, “If it doesn’t come from a boss, it’s not real money.” John worked in a phone store, hated every second of it. Smart guy, but he didn’t want to waste time on “internet money that’s probably fake.” And then there was me. Let’s be clear, I wasn't broke. But something about crypto just clicked. I didn’t fully get it, but I felt it was big. So I started small. Started to DCA into ETH, flipped some coins I barely understood there, and made tons of mistakes. I stayed up late reading Reddit threads no one cared about and watching price charts like they were telling me a secret. They all laughed when I said I was skipping drinks to buy coins. Or when I mentioned I made 2400 from some weird token in a week. But then… I started doing better. I didn’t become rich overnight. But little by little, my life started changing. I had more money saved up than ever before. I quit my previous job, moved to a better apartment. I wasn’t “rich”, but I had freedom. And they noticed. One night, Alex texted me: “Bro… I’m tired of being broke. Can you teach me how to do this crypto thing?” Then came Max: “Alright, I’ll admit it. I fucked up ignoring this. Help me get started?” And finally, John was like: “Okay, man, I don’t want to work retail forever. What do I need to buy first?” So I walked them through the basics. Helped them set up wallets, showed them how to avoid scams, and taught them how to think long-term. Fast-forward to now, they’re not just “into” crypto. They crushed it. Alex started flipping NFTs, got in early on a few meme coins, and now has over 1 million sitting in his portfolio. Max made a fortune on the first wave of airdrops. Quit his job, and still farming the new one. John? He got obsessed. Went deep into trading, built systems, started saving like crazy, and he’s sitting comfortably at 7-figures now, with plans to leave the country next year. The same guys who thought I was nuts for buying coins with animal logos… now making more than doctors, engineers, or lawyers we grew up admiring. We still joke about it. How they called it all fake. How they said I was gonna lose everything. How their parents told them I was in a pyramid scheme. Now we laugh about it… from hotel balconies, on trips we used to say were “only for rich people.” It’s not that I’m some genius. I just started early. I believed before it was cool. And when the time came, I brought the people I cared about with me. That’s the whole story. Nothing crazy. Just one kid who went first… and three friends who finally decided to follow.(Hanzo ㊗️)
