BlockBeats News: On July 30th, according to AXIOS, Republican Senator Josh Hawley's bill to ban stock trading by members of Congress is becoming a major challenge for the Republican Party. Several insiders revealed that Hawley needs Democratic support to pass the committee vote scheduled for Wednesday due to opposition from Rand Paul, the chairman of the Homeland Security Affairs Committee. Therefore, Hawley agreed to include language that would also prohibit the President and Vice President in the bill, which would prohibit them from making certain investments and expand the scope originally limited to members of Congress. According to sources, the White House Office of Legislative Affairs launched a counterattack after learning of the matter, lobbying against the stock trading ban.
