Since his detention in Paris in 2024, Durov has been repeatedly accused of being involved in organized crime, illegal transactions, and the dissemination of illegal content. Durov denies all allegations and has stated through his lawyer that he has provided investigators with a detailed explanation of the absurdity of the relevant facts. After Durov's arrest, the French judiciary claimed that cooperation with Telegram had improved. Durov's lawyer has questioned the constitutionality of the case and applied for a preliminary ruling from the EU Supreme Court.
