According to a report by Golden Finance, the Financial Times reported on August 11th that American chip companies Nvidia and AMD have agreed to "pay" 15% of their chip sales revenue in China to the US government in exchange for export licenses issued by the Trump administration. US officials have stated that Nvidia will "share" 15% of its revenue from selling H20 chips in China, and AMD will also hand over an equal proportion of its revenue from MI308 artificial intelligence (AI) chips to the US government. The report points out that this practice of demanding a portion of the income from enterprises in exchange for export licenses is unprecedented. (Observer Network)
