According to Cointelegraph, the cryptocurrency market has traditionally followed a four-year bull and bear market cycle that seems to revolve around Bitcoin halving. However, according to industry analysts and experts, this model may be collapsing.
Author and investor Jason Williams posted on X platform on Sunday, saying, "The top 100 Bitcoin reserve companies hold nearly one million bitcoins. That's why the four-year cycle of Bitcoin has ended
Matthew Hougan, Chief Investment Officer of Bitwise Asset Management, also expressed a similar view in an article published by CNBC on Friday. Hougan said, "It won't officially end until we see positive returns in 2026. But I think we will see it, so let's say: I think the four-year cycle has ended." This echoes his statement in July.
In the past three market cycles, the peak price of Bitcoin has occurred in the year after halving, namely 2013, 2017, and 2021. According to this model, the next peak should be 2025 four years later.
