Cathie Wood: Does quantum computing threaten Bitcoin? At least wait until the end of the 2030s
ARK Invest founder and CEO Cathie Wood recently discussed in an interview with @ CoinDesk whether quantum computing will threaten the Bitcoin ecosystem, stating that the team has been evaluating technological breakthroughs and there has been progress, but currently it is only a small step forward.
ARK Chief Futurist Brett believes that even if quantum threats occur, they may not happen until the late 2030s or even 2040s.
She pointed out that the key reason for delaying the impact of quantum computing is the explosive progress of artificial intelligence (AI). The development speed of AI far exceeds expectations, with no clear performance limit. The more computing power is invested, the stronger the performance, and the cost is rapidly decreasing. Many goals that were originally hoped to be achieved through quantum computing are now capable of being accomplished by AI.
Under this trend, capital is more likely to continue flowing into the AI field rather than rushing to promote quantum computing, which will also slow down the real threat of quantum technology to the security of Bitcoin.
