US mortgage rates fall to lowest level since October last year
According to Golden Finance, US mortgage rates have fallen for the fourth consecutive week, reaching their lowest point since October last year. Fangdi Mei said in a statement that the average interest rate for a 30-year fixed loan is 6.58%, lower than last week's 6.63%. The Fed's interest rate cuts do not guarantee a significant reduction in borrowing costs for homebuyers. These indicators tend to follow the trend of 10-year US treasury bond bond yield, which is guided by traders' responses to various economic reports. Kara Wu, senior economist at Zillow Home Loans, said, "Any further signs that tariffs are seeping into prices could limit the Fed's flexibility. The recent decline in mortgage rates may attract some shoppers, but many remain on the sidelines because affordability remains a serious obstacle. This year, more sellers have returned to the market than buyers, but they are facing the reality that unsold properties have yet to be listed and the number of qualified buyers is decreasing
