In the next decade, public blockchains will either have a strong narrative, a dead end, or return to Ethereum—— I personally feel that the innovation peak of L1 has passed. Whoever can survive in the future will either rely on strong storytelling (such as Solana's high performance+community) or integrate into the Ethereum ecosystem and find a niche position. Ronin's choice essentially acknowledges the survival pressure of independent L1, but also indicates that Ethereum's "network effect" is entering a stronger integration cycle.
