My brutally honest take on Elon Musk's new political party… I believe Elon Musk is a gift to humanity from the gods. His visions are all encompassing and his methods are effective. As for his political party, I hope he is successful in shrinking the size and the regulations coming from the federal government. Politics is tough to move because of the checks and balances. I like that the world is returning to capitalism. Socialism doesn’t work. EVER. I think Elon's on a mission to shrink the federal government and get rid of that debt, and I hope he can. I am sorry he and President Trump didn’t stay aligned.. When Musk polled his 220M followers, 80% said we SHOULD create a new party. Apparently, the odds of a given startup becoming a unicorn are better than the odds of a third party succeeding. But it can be done, and if anyone can it is Elon Musk. I am more a student of incentives. So I recommend a few structural changes that might get us to where Elon wants to go. Maybe we start with: →Government employee salary increases being directly tied to growth of GDP instead of CPI →Have a fixed budget that congress votes for “Shares” of. So if they overspend, each program is diluted equally and the budget balances. →Simplifying the tax code. No deductions. No special interests. Just 10% of the first 1 million in income. 20% of the next 10 million in income and 30% for anything after that. After that, reducing the debt gets a little easier. My interview with TheStreet Roundtable is now live: https://www.thestreet.com/crypto/markets/billionaire-tim-draper-has-a-blunt-response-to-elon-musks-new-political-party.(Tim Draper)
