Although Binance Alpha has been criticized by many VCs for disrupting secondary pricing rights—essentially airdropping tokens to exchanges but leaving them unable to sell—let’s be real, it’s precisely because of this that many undervalued projects exist. They launch unnoticed, then rise as their value is realized. On Binance Alpha, there’s a pretty high success rate for making money by identifying tokens whose background and price are completely mismatched, then waiting for the airdrop hype to settle before buying in. Aside from the Codatta we talked about earlier, take ZKWASM as an example—this one’s even more extreme. If I told you last year that a project backed by Binance, OKX, and Hashkey, opening at a $50M valuation, would drop all the way to $20M to find its bottom, you’d think it was impossible. But that’s exactly what happened on Binance Alpha. Yesterday, it launched on UnicornX, and even after bouncing back from the low point, it’s already up nearly 5x. And yet, its FDV is still under $100M. This kind of valuation drop creates opportunities for retail investors to jump in and benefit from the wealth effect. Compare that to other ZK-related projects like PROVE, which recently opened at a $1B valuation—how are retail investors supposed to afford that? Of course, the project team itself probably feels pretty frustrated seeing its token price looking so pitiful. Just three hours ago, they published a lengthy article arguing that they’re severely undervalued, listing a bunch of cutting-edge achievements and awards, and even bluntly stating, “The market’s mispricing is extremely serious.” It’s rare to see a project team use such straightforward language to hype themselves up. @unicornxdex is showing some big-picture thinking this time, offering airdrops to users who bought UniCall above the benchmark price. Plus, if they continue holding the airdropped tokens until the next milestone date, they’ll earn additional points.
