[Gryphon Mining to Merge with Hut 8 Subsidiary, Form Trump-Linked Company]
Odaily Planet Daily reports that Bitcoin miner Gryphon Digital Mining (stock symbol: GRYP) will merge with a subsidiary of Hut 8 to establish a U.S.-based Bitcoin company linked to Trump. The announcement stated: 'Gryphon shareholders have approved the previously announced stock-for-stock merger with American Bitcoin. Gryphon will conduct a reverse stock split of its outstanding common shares at a ratio of 5-to-1.' A reverse stock split is a corporate action that reduces the number of a company’s outstanding shares by consolidating them, 'implemented to meet Nasdaq’s minimum bid price listing requirements.' Gryphon emphasized that this transaction will not affect the company’s market value or shareholder interests. The stock split is scheduled for September 2 (after the U.S. Labor Day holiday). The new shares will trade under the ticker symbol ABTC on Nasdaq, as previously announced, and will operate under the American Bitcoin brand. Trump’s two eldest sons, Eric and Donald Jr., retain stakes in this cryptocurrency joint venture. In March of this year, publicly traded company Hut 8 (stock symbol: HUT) announced it would hold approximately 80% of the company, with the remaining 20% owned by Trump sons-backed entity American Data Centers.
