At the beginning of the year, OKX Wallet mentioned they’d introduce fees + referral commissions, and it’s finally live now. OKX has invested a team of hundreds and billions of dollars to create a powerful, seamless wallet experience. Charging fees was expected—revenue is necessary for sustainable business. The fee structure is tiered: no fees for major tokens, 0.25% for secondary tokens, and 0.85% for meme tokens. Compared to other bot-like products that charge a flat 1%, it’s not too expensive. However, the tiering criteria are a bit vague—it’d be better to have a clear standard. Tried it out (process shown in the image below), and here are a few things to note: ◦ Currently, only a small group of people can create invitation codes. You can’t invite yourself. ◦ For now, it only supports wallets imported via mnemonic phrases/private keys on Solana and EVM chains. ◦ Referral commissions are distributed directly on-chain to the inviter, matching the token type of the invitee’s transactions. ◦ The default maximum referral commission is 30%, and invitees can get up to 20% back.
