[UK 30-Year Government Bond Yield Hits Highest Level Since 1998] According to a report by Jinse Finance, the yield on the UK 30-year government bond reached a 27-year high on Tuesday, driven by market concerns over large-scale government borrowing and U.S. President Trump's attempt to dismiss a Federal Reserve governor, which has pushed up global government borrowing costs. Data from the London Stock Exchange shows that the yield on the UK 30-year government bond hit a high of 5.680%, rising about 4 basis points on the day, marking the highest level since May 1998. The yield on Germany's 30-year government bond also climbed to a 14-year high, following the rise in U.S. Treasury yields. The borrowing cost for the UK 30-year bond is the highest among the G7 nations, reflecting concerns over the country's inflation rate, heavy debt levels, and sluggish economic growth. UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Reeves is expected to raise taxes in the autumn budget to continue meeting fiscal targets, which could further complicate efforts to accelerate economic growth. (Jin10)
