Just saw @KuanSun1990 share his experience in the group after recovering his funds—having a Happy Ending is truly awesome. I feel it's necessary to give @VenusProtocol some credit based on his real experience.
Although there were quite a few issues before, their performance in this incident was commendable and made me go from black to white. Not only did they act under pressure to promptly suspend the protocol, but they also worked closely with the victim and the security team (PeckShield), putting in overtime to find a solution. In the end, the hacker ended up losing $3 million instead of profiting.
Additionally, @BNBCHAINZH actively provided assistance and oversight. This whole process kind of reminded me of the early days of BSC. Back then, protocol teams, security teams, and the BSC official team worked together to tackle quite a few hacking incidents. For a while, BSC was even considered safer than the ETH mainnet, which became a hot topic.
BTW, Brother Kuan seems to have been hit by a social engineering attack for the second time—pretty unlucky. The specific details will probably be shared once he’s rested up. Losing and recovering assets worth tens of millions in a single day—just thinking about it feels intense. Plus, the successful handling of this case will definitely provide valuable insights for future cases.
