Continuing the discussion on the Agent Economy and why Claude is banning Chinese entities Pioneers at the forefront of human knowledge, like OpenAI’s former chief scientist Ilya and Google’s former executive Mo Gawdat, have been consistently warning their fellow humans: AI will completely reshape human society in a dystopian form in the future. Things we take for granted and assume to be eternal—like nation-states, fiat currency systems, and large corporations—will disintegrate in the upcoming era of the Agent Economy. The new Agent Economy (aka Sovereign Individual Capitalism) will consist of a handful of super overlords (super AI companies controlling computing power, data, and LLMs) and atomized super individuals equipped with self-learning Agent productivity tools. There are two ways to visualize the societal structure born from this economic form: one is the real-life version of Night City from the game *Cyberpunk 2077*; the other is a cyberpunk version of China’s “Four Provinces” (山河四省). In short, it’s a dystopian cyber society made up of a few super overlords + a limited elite class of atomized super individuals + countless “useless” classes. Foreseeing this future, Claude’s founder Dario Amodei has invested significant development resources, personal time, and energy into AI/AGI safety, such as drafting an AGI Constitution and embedding “wisdom and compassion” into AI/AGI. Clearly, Dario hopes that in the future cyber society, the super overlords will be wise and benevolent, voluntarily choosing to co-evolve with humanity rather than enslaving or even eradicating it. If toxic ☠️ Chinese-style super overlords were to infiltrate this group, it would be a disaster on a humanity-wide scale. That’s probably why Claude is banning Chinese entities, I guess. #AI #AgentEconomy #Claude #Cyberpunk #FutureSociety
