[U.S. Sanctions 10 Cambodian Entities Accused of Cryptocurrency Investment Fraud] According to a report by Jinse Finance, the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced sanctions against 10 Cambodian entities, accusing them of forcing trafficked individuals to engage in cryptocurrency investment fraud. It stated that the fraud groups used debt bondage, violence, and forced prostitution to coerce individuals into conducting online scams by sending messages to strangers via instant messaging apps or directly to potential victims' phones. Reportedly, Americans lost over $10 billion last year due to scams originating from Southeast Asia.
