Just realized I did an in-depth research and analysis on @anoma two years ago. Back then, the analysis was centered around the intent-centric concept, but I always felt this was a project with an intelligent architecture—pretty ahead of its time. Why do I think so? Because the current crypto public chain environment has a fundamental paradox: if a project chooses Ethereum’s decentralized security architecture, it has to bear high gas fees and low TPS constraints. On the other hand, opting for a high-performance chain architecture might mean sacrificing some security. This is because a chain’s technical architecture and security model are often tightly coupled, sacrificing “flexibility” and creating inherent limitations. This is precisely why Stripe and other L1s are reluctant to build within the Ethereum ecosystem. But @anoma has managed to decouple this contradiction. At the protocol level, it first defines standardized interactive operability, allowing users to choose their security model based on their needs. For example, a DeFi protocol can opt for Ethereum-level security consensus, while high-frequency trading or GameFi can choose a faster matching consensus mechanism. This essentially achieves a fractal design between consensus and applications, enabling each application to find its own balance between security and performance. Moreover, Anoma doesn’t treat privacy as an add-on feature but as a foundational part of its architecture. This means that integrating Anoma’s underlying architecture inherently comes with privacy features. Calling it the middleware for future privacy chains isn’t an exaggeration. In other words, Anoma makes the current multi-chain environment—relying on coprocessors, regulators, and intermediate layers—more unified. At the very least, its positioning is on par with the next Polkadot or Cosmos-level public chain, if not bigger. (Looking back, the layer 1.5 positioning I gave it two years ago was pretty forward-thinking.) Note: Out of respect for this technical vision, I picked up a SHRIMPERS NFT, which feels like reconnecting with the original intention of researching Anoma. Even though a lot has changed in the past two years. (No WL, purely bought for the sentiment—don’t follow my example, folks.)
