The Wildcard I Wish for a Different Breakthrough Path: Taking Off from Web2 and Turning Back to Ignite Web3
Due to the recent lack of significant movements in Wildcard, I have noticed that everyone in DC is starting to worry. Except for the ex event and meta prediction, other expected news has not been fulfilled yet.
Like everyone else, I am also looking forward to the empowerment of NFTs, the team token retention mechanism, and when will the $wc purchases be launched? After all, we all have a web3 mindset.
But looking at it from a different perspective, the team seems to be primarily focused on the Web2 domain:
DreamHack - the world's largest digital culture and esports event, Wildcard has appeared on its website.
Steam Next Fest - The results won't be available until around October 13th, and I also hope to see Wildcard appear on the homepage.
This is different from the path of Axie and running shoes. Axie broke through Web3 and influenced Web2, while Wildcard may have made a name for itself in Web2 before giving back to Web3. (By the way, Axie's founder himself is also very optimistic about Wildcard and has had a deep conversation with Paul.). )
I also suggested in DC that if Wildcard can be launched on mobile devices, it will be a qualitative change. Not everyone has a high-end computer, but everyone has a mobile phone. Like Hearthstone and King, it's very easy to play anytime, anywhere. Wildcard's 2v2 fast-paced mode is naturally suitable for mobile devices.
As a player who has come a long way from Dota1, I truly believe that Wildcard has high levels of gameplay and competitiveness. For players who are tired of 5v5 MOBA, this 2v2 card throwing MOBA is a brand new experience, almost the first of its kind on the track.
Imagine this:
Web2- Selling card packs and skins on mobile devices, replicating Hearthstone's annual turnover of 400-500 million US dollars, and even the miracle of the king "Zhao Yun · Engine Heart" breaking 100 million US dollars on the first day.
Web3- Using the economic system to feed back the community and form a growth flywheel.
If Wildcard can become popular in Web2, Web3 will definitely take off with it. I sincerely look forward to it igniting this year! Three years together, there will be echoes in the future.
