Starknet to Launch BTC Staking Functionality on September 30

Starknet announced that the Bitcoin staking functionality will officially go live on the mainnet on September 30. This upgrade will allow Bitcoin holders to stake within the Starknet network to enhance network security and earn rewards. Additionally, the unstaking period will be shortened from the original 21 days to 7 days, further improving operational efficiency and flexibility for stakers and delegators. To complete the upgrade, Starknet will suspend staking contracts for several hours on September 15 at 10:00 (GMT+3) to integrate the Bitcoin staking functionality into the existing mechanism. After the upgrade is completed, validators and developers will be able to deploy Bitcoin delegation pools and integrate with the protocol, with rewards distribution starting on September 30.
