Gate C2C Launches Shield Merchant Service, Comprehensive Upgrade to User Rights Protection

Odaily Planet Daily reports that the cryptocurrency trading platform Gate has announced that its C2C platform will officially launch the Shield Merchant Service mechanism on September 15, 2025. This mechanism establishes an exclusive certification system for merchants through measures such as margin constraints, strict qualification reviews, and risk assessments. It also provides joint compensation support in extreme cases where users encounter judicial freezes due to transactions with Shield Merchants. According to the official rules, if a user's transaction payment is judicially frozen due to reasons attributable to a Shield Merchant, the platform will compensate 20% of the order amount, with a maximum of 2000 USDT per transaction, shared equally between the merchant and the platform (50% each). If the merchant fails to fulfill the compensation, the platform will directly deduct the amount from the merchant's margin. Currently, the Shield Service applies to the CNY fiat trading zone of Gate C2C and is temporarily available only on the web version. While safeguarding user rights, this service also strengthens merchant credit building, creating a more stable and trustworthy environment for C2C transactions.
