As much as the collective old guard of crypto twitter hated NFTs last cycle, there was something pure about them that hasn't been replicated by meme coins in the same way since.
The best projects had a collective identity that was annoying to anyone on the outside, but the lack of fractionalization led toward a feeling of ownership that meme coins just don't.
Pulling a grail from a mint that you had fight to get into had the same feeling of exhilaration that you see when streamers open an expensive old pack of pokemon cards and find a holo.
The community defining what they consider a grail to be (e.g. hoodie punks) doesn't happen the same way with memes. NFTs there's always a better piece in the collection to strive for.
Also - the lack of fractionalization that people complained about was one of the key drivers for insane multiples printing (low supply / high demand = recipe for up only).
Only a matter of time before NFT szn is back. It's easy if you've only been around the space for one cycle to call a sector dead, if you've never seen a sector die and then be revived in a way that makes the initial form look like a blip on the chart.
Everything that made them special once will make them special again. Like any high beta play, just takes a risk on environment to trigger the initial capital influx. Only a matter of time before it happens.(K A L E O)
