U.S. Tech Giants Pledge Over $40 Billion Investment in the UK

According to Golden Finance, several major U.S. tech companies have announced plans to invest over $40 billion to expand the UK's AI infrastructure, marking a significant boost for the country. This announcement coincides with Trump's state visit to the UK.
Microsoft (MSFT.O) stated on Tuesday that it will invest $30 billion in the UK's AI infrastructure and existing operations by 2028, representing the company's largest financial commitment in the UK. Google (GOOG.O) announced plans to invest approximately $6.8 billion in AI, research, and related engineering in the UK over the next two years.
Meanwhile, NVIDIA (NVDA.O), OpenAI, and UK-based company Nscale are collaborating to build AI infrastructure in the UK to meet OpenAI's computing power demands. The project, named "Stargate (UK)," is expected to be located in the northeast of England and will utilize tens of thousands of NVIDIA Grace Blackwell Ultra GPUs.
Among other investments, AI cloud computing company CoreWeave plans to invest approximately $2.04 billion in AI data center capacity and operations in the UK. Salesforce has announced it will reinvest $2 billion into its UK operations by 2030, while BlackRock will invest £500 million in data centers across the UK.
