Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) first announced its strategy of adopting Bitcoin as a primary reserve asset in 2020. Strategy uses its parent company's stock price as collateral to borrow funds for purchasing Bitcoin. As Bitcoin rises, the parent company's stock price increases as well.
