Arthur Hayes faces tough questions at Korea Blockchain Week: Why sell now after predicting Hyperliquid will 126x? Arthur Hayes was pressed by @Cointelegraph reporters at Korea Blockchain Week about his Hyperliquid 126x prediction and recent sell-off: 'Didn’t you say Hyperliquid could go up 126 times? Why sell it now?' Hayes responded that markets move in cycles. The 126x he mentioned during his Tokyo speech was a 2028 projection, and it’s currently 2025. He still believes in the long-term potential but admitted that Hyperliquid is facing significant short-term challenges: - $500M in monthly token unlock sell pressure; - Revenue supporting buybacks is being eroded by zero-fee or low-fee competitors; - Users are extremely fee-sensitive and always looking for 'the next Hyperliquid.' He emphasized that, as an investment manager, he must weigh risk and reward. 'If it goes from 50 to 100, I don’t lose out; if it drops to 25, I can exit and re-enter. That’s rational portfolio management. That’s why I’m a CIO, not a puppet on strings.'
