100,000 Bitcoin May Have Rung Risk-Asset Sell Bell - The risk-asset cycle may have peaked when Bitcoin first traded above 100,000 on Dec. 6. Since then, the first born crypto has gained about 12% -- the same as the S&P 500 total return. The Bloomberg Galaxy Crypto Index (BGCI) is about flat and gold is up over 40%. It bodes poorly that Bitcoin, which has traded about 2.5x the volatility of the stock index over the period, has only kept pace with beta.
