OpenAI Announces Five New "Stargate" Data Center Sites

Reported by Jinse Finance, OpenAI has announced that its "Stargate" data center infrastructure project will add five new sites over the next three years, providing a total power capacity of 7 gigawatts. The announcement was made at OpenAI's flagship site in Abilene, Texas, with partners including Oracle (ORCL.N) and SoftBank. The new sites will be located in Lordstown, Ohio; Shackelford and Milam, Texas; Doña Ana, New Mexico; and an undisclosed location in the Midwest. OpenAI stated in its blog that the company is evaluating additional sites, and these new locations have allowed the company to complete its original plan ahead of schedule. It is expected to secure $500 billion in investment commitments and 10 gigawatts of power capacity by the end of 2025.
