Industry insiders: OpenAI collaborates with Oracle and Nvidia to form a business closed loop
Golden Finance reported that according to CCTV Finance, Nvidia plans to invest $100 billion in OpenAI to jointly build a data center with a scale of at least 10 gigawatts. According to informed sources, Nvidia will invest in OpenAI by acquiring non voting shares, which OpenAI can use to purchase Nvidia chips.
Andrew Kitson, Technology Industry Director at BMI, a subsidiary of Fitch Solutions, stated that Nvidia's $100 billion investment is not just an investment, but also a leverage that makes Nvidia both a hardware supplier for OpenAI and one of OpenAI's future sources of financing. OpenAI has been struggling to transform into a fully profitable institution, and its partnership with Nvidia provides a guarantee for its long-term financial security in the future. In addition, OpenAI previously signed a cloud computing cooperation agreement with Oracle, purchasing a huge amount of computing power from Oracle. As an infrastructure provider, Oracle needs to purchase a large amount of graphics processing unit (GPU) hardware from Nvidia to build data centers.
Analysis suggests that the three companies will form a new cooperation model as a result: OpenAI will purchase cloud services from Oracle, Oracle will purchase graphics processors (GPUs) from NVIDIA, and NVIDIA will continue to invest in OpenAI. Experts from multiple technology industry consulting service companies pointed out that although this cooperation forms a closed loop of "chip infrastructure model" in the AI supply chain, it will not change the trend of diversified development in the computing power market.
