According to Reuters, White House officials said that for trade partners such as the European Union and Japan, the U.S. will continue to adhere to the 15% tariff cap stipulated in the agreements. On September 25, U.S. President Donald Trump announced on his social media platform 'Truth Social' that starting October 1, the U.S. will implement a new round of high tariffs on various imported products. The measures include: imposing a 50% tariff on kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, and related building materials; a 30% tariff on imported furniture; and a 100% tariff on patented and branded pharmaceuticals.
