It’s clear that the ZKWASM team has been working hard to explore application scenarios for ZK technology. After proposing the idea of using ZK to optimize the PerpDex experience last time, they’ve now introduced two new directions: launching the ZKFair on-chain voting platform in collaboration with the Fair3 community, and using ZK to monitor and verify solar mining revenues to address the trust issues between on-chain and off-chain RWA.
ZKFair is like a sentiment-driven version of Polymarket—a jury on-chain where people can vote on whether a trending event is fair or not. ZK ensures the privacy and integrity of each vote, with every vote generating a ZK proof. Since this was developed in partnership with the Fair3 community, the first version currently only supports voting by Fair3 token holders. Future updates will allow other assets to participate, empowering project communities by gauging real user sentiment and public opinion through the number and value of token-holder votes. This way, decisions are based on actual user voices rather than who shouts the loudest, fostering stronger community cohesion.
As for the solar mining verification direction, it addresses a long-standing pain point in the RWA space. A significant portion of RWA assets and their revenues exist off-chain, making it hard to verify their existence or scale—often relying solely on the project team’s claims. Last month, Plume partnered with EY to audit RWA assets, but this approach is limited to large-scale projects. Smaller, fragmented scenarios like solar panels are harder to track comprehensively. Previously, Ant Group’s green energy charging RWA project directly put all charging stations on-chain via Depin, enabling real-time monitoring. ZKWASM’s solution for solar energy is similar but incorporates ZK technology to ensure all assets and revenues can be verified. This project has already been implemented in Australia, benefiting from its geography and climate—vast plains and nearly year-round sunshine. The founder even visited the site personally for inspection. For more details, check out the official announcement on Twitter:

Having interacted with the ZKWASM team for so long, you can really feel the difference. As a project backed by both Binance and OKX, they stand apart from other teams that hype up their tech without applying it to real-world use cases. Instead, they’re doing everything they can to find business applications for ZK, rather than just burying themselves in research within their own little bubble.
